Mystic Island Casino

Located in Mystic, Connecticut, the Mystic Island Casino is a favorite spot for many visitors. While the casino is not the only attraction, the entire area offers a unique blend of history and amenities. In the 1960s, the RCA sold the island’s land to a land development company called Lagoon Parks, Inc., for $55,000. The company bought seven small islands and developed them into a development called Mystic Island. The property was largely built on waterways and buildable land. Construction started in 1959, with the lagoons being dredged until the early 1970s. After the passing of CAFRA I and CAFRA II, however, the dredging stopped. Today, the former casino site is home to condominiums. The waterfront area has been redeveloped for recreational purposes, and residents can still use the marina.

The Mystic Islands Casino offers several dining options, including American classics and casual fare. If you’re visiting with family, the Mystic Islands Casino offers kid-friendly food and atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for families with children. Families will find the atmosphere and food appealing, and the casino offers complimentary wifi.

Originally, Mystic Island was a resort community with vacation bungalows. Today, the homes are larger and built on pilings. They resemble those found on Long Beach Island. Located on the water, Mystic Island was once called Hickory Island, and the area was served by the Tuckerton Railroad and Tuckerton Wireless Tower.
